Supporters Snatch Former Councilor from Police in Dramatic Style in Bhairab, Case Filed
A sensational incident of snatching a former municipal councilor from a police prison van after arrest has occurred in Bhairab, Kishoreganj. The incident took place in Durjoy Mor area of the town on Friday night. Police said hundreds of supporters with sticks blocked the police vehicle and forcibly took him away while he was being taken to the police station accused in a sabotage case. Two constables were injured in a scuffle with police at that time.

Witnesses said when police were taking the former councilor away after detention, the news spread within moments. Within minutes, his supporters gathered and barricaded the road. Police filed a case as plaintiff at Bhairab Police Station regarding this incident. The case names 50 people including the fugitive councilor and accuses 200 unknown persons. The Superintendent of Police of Kishoreganj visited the spot and ordered the speedy arrest of the culprits. He said, "Obstructing police work and snatching an accused is a serious crime. No one will be spared."
