Three Rescued from Sundarbans Kidnappers After Ransom Payment
Three people kidnapped from the Chandpai range of the Sundarbans East Forest Division have finally been rescued. Resort owner Sripoti Bachar and tourists Shohel and Johnny were returned following a joint Coast Guard and Police operation and, as per relatives, a ransom payment on Sunday night.
Two-Day Ransom DramaThe trio was abducted by armed miscreants on Friday afternoon. Kidnappers negotiated with families for over 48 hours before releasing them at 8:30 PM Sunday after the money transfer.
Joint Force SuccessDacope OC Atiqur Rahman confirmed the rescue and stated that a case has been filed against the abductors. A press conference will be held Monday to disclose further details of the operation.
