Husband Beats Wife Publicly After Being Caught with Mistress in Barishal
An unprecedented incident took place in broad daylight on Fazlul Haque Avenue in Barishal city. A husband, who had left home claiming he was going to Dhaka, was caught wandering with his mistress by his wife and elderly mother-in-law. Instead of repenting, the man publicly beat his wife, leaving her crying in agony and humiliation on the street.
The IncidentThe victim, Akhi Mallik, married Rabiul Islam seven years ago. Suspicious of his claims, she and her mother-in-law followed him to Barishal city where they spotted him with another woman. When Akhi attempted to stop them, Rabiul physically assaulted her in front of numerous onlookers.
A Dark PastRabiul's mother revealed that the woman her son is currently involved with had previously accused him in a rape case. The family spent over 1.5 lakh BDT defending that case. Akhi has announced that she will take legal action against both her husband and the mistress.
