Companies Urge New IAU Vice-Chancellor to Address Long-Standing Payment Issues

Islamic Arabic University has been facing allegations of prolonged delays in clearing payments, as several private companies that completed development and service-related projects have demanded a prompt resolution. According to the concerned parties, even after finishing their work, they have to wait for a long time to receive their payments and are required to visit multiple offices repeatedly. In many cases, despite completing all necessary procedures, the release of funds is delayed, putting small and medium-sized companies under financial pressure.

 

Recently, Professor Dr. Muhammad Abu Jafar Khan assumed office as the new Vice-Chancellor. Following his appointment, affected companies have expressed renewed hope that this long-standing issue may finally be resolved. Representatives of several firms stated that if the new VC gives due attention to the matter, administrative complications could be reduced and the payment process accelerated.

 

According to the affected parties, slow bill processing and administrative complexities have been persistent issues for a long time. Although no official statement has been issued by the university administration, stakeholders believe that immediate and effective action is now the need of the hour.

 

There are also allegations that an unscrupulous group or “syndicate” within the Registrar’s Office is contributing to these delays. While no official comment has been made by the authorities regarding this claim, multiple affected parties have reported similar experiences.

 

Some contractors alleged, “Even after completing the work, we have to keep visiting offices repeatedly to get our bills cleared. Sometimes, we are not even informed about the status or location of our files.”

 

Experts suggest that the situation could improve if specific timelines are set for bill approvals, an online tracking system is introduced, and greater transparency and accountability are ensured. They also recommend taking effective measures to investigate the allegations. The affected companies remain hopeful that swift and decisive action by the new Vice-Chancellor will bring a lasting solution to the problem and create a more positive working environment with the university.
