Former NCP leader Dr. Tasnim Jara is determined to participate in the Dhaka-9 constituency as an independent candidate. She has appealed to the Election Commission (EC) after her nomination was cancelled by the District Returning Officer.
Fight to Regain CandidacyOn January 3rd, the Dhaka District Returning Officer declared her nomination invalid. Challenging this decision, she formally submitted her appeal on Monday afternoon (January 5th).
EC Appeal Process UnderwayThe EC has started receiving appeals from candidates whose nominations were cancelled. This process will continue until January 9th. 10 booths have been set up for this regional appeal process.
