Jatiya Inqilab Mancha has given a strict 22-day ultimatum to the government demanding justice for the murder of Osman Hadi. Leaders of the organization made this announcement at a protest rally organized in front of the National Press Club on Saturday (January 03) afternoon. They said Hadi was a patriot and a loud voice against injustice. His murder is not an ordinary event, but a well-planned political assassination. Procrastination in the judicial process will not be accepted in any way.

Warning by Leaders at Rally

The convener of Inqilab Mancha said at the rally, "We want to tell the administration clearly, if the masterminds of Hadi's murder are not arrested and tried within 22 days, we will not give any more memorandums. We will launch a one-point movement to topple the government." He alleged that attempts are being made to divert the investigation under pressure from influential circles. But the student-people will not let that happen.

Culture of Impunity

Speakers strongly criticized the prevailing culture of impunity in the country. They said starting from Sagar-Runi to Tonu murder—the nation did not get justice for any of them. The same repetition will not be allowed in the case of Osman Hadi. They demanded the immediate formation of a judicial inquiry commission. Student representatives from different universities also spoke expressing solidarity at the rally.

Protest Procession

After the rally, a huge protest procession was brought out. The procession started from the Press Club, went around Paltan intersection and ended in front of the Press Club again. The streets shook with slogans 'We want justice for Hadi's murder', 'We want execution of killers'. Police did not try to obstruct the procession but were in a cautious position.

Next Program

Inqilab Mancha informed that they will not sit idle for these 22 days of ultimatum. They will conduct public relations and street meetings across the country to build public opinion. Besides, a program to besiege the Ministry of Home Affairs next week is also being considered. They called upon all political parties and social organizations to join this movement for justice.
