Stagnation at Midnight: Daulatdia-Paturia Route Closed Due to Fog
Nature has wrapped the Padma in a white blanket. Due to intense dense fog, ferry services on the highly critical Daulatdia-Paturia water route have been completely suspended. To ensure the safety of passengers and vehicles, BIWTC took this emergency decision from approximately 12:25 AM Sunday midnight as river visibility dropped dangerously low.
Stranded Travelers' DespairThis sudden announcement has caused severe traffic congestion at both ghat areas. At least three ferries are anchored with vehicles at the Daulatdia end, and hundreds of various vehicles are trapped in long queues waiting for transit. Many travelers, including women, children, and the elderly, are facing immense hardship in the bone-chilling cold.
Safety FirstThe manager of the Daulatdia terminal, Md. Salahuddin, stated that the fog density was so high that nearby objects were invisible. Services will resume only after visibility returns to normal to avoid major accidents.
