Popular sports brand Adidas and Major League Soccer (MLS) have jointly unveiled the new official match ball for the 2026 season. The ball was unveiled at a glittering ceremony in New York on Saturday (January 03). The ball has been named 'Prime Star'. Special surprises have been kept in the design and technology of this ball ahead of the 2026 World Cup. Immense interest has been created among footballers and fans regarding this new ball.

Aesthetic Design and Technology

The design of this new ball combines North American culture and the speed of football. It uses bright colored geometric patterns which will increase the visibility of the ball on the field. Adidas said their latest 'thermally bonded' technology has been used in the ball, making it more durable and perfectly spherical. It is claimed to be more stable in the air.

Enhancing Player Performance

Star players of MLS have given positive feedback after testing this ball. They say the grip and touch of the new ball are extraordinary. It will give strikers an extra advantage in fast passing and taking shots. It will also be easier for goalkeepers to understand the trajectory of the ball. All matches will be played with this ball from the beginning of the next season.

Use of Eco-friendly Materials

Adidas has put special emphasis on sustainable development this time. Recycled polyester and eco-friendly ink have been used to make the 'Prime Star' ball. This is an effort to reduce carbon footprint. MLS authorities said they want to spread the message of environmental protection through football and this ball is a reflection of that goal.

Excitement Among Football Lovers

Immediately after the unveiling of the ball, discussions started among football lovers on social media. Many have praised its design. The ball will be available for sale in Adidas showrooms and online from next week.
